Main Street Calumet has announced the winners in their holiday window decorating contest, an annual competition amongst downtown business owners to see who can create the most festive, decked-out storefront.
The contest is part of Main Street Calumet’s “Christmas in Calumet” celebration, presented by the Village of Calumet Downtown Development Authority.
The winners, as determined by this year’s special panel of judges, the Calumet Lady Elks, are:
2nd Place: Calumet Floral (owner Sandy Johnson), receiving two tickets to the Calumet Theatre.

(2nd place), from left: Sandy Johnson (Calumet Floral), Laura Miller (Executive Director, Calumet Theatre)
3rd Place: Calumet Log Homes (owners Ray and Chrissy Gerhart), receiving one night’s stay at the AmericInn of Calumet.

(3rd place), from left: Chrissy and Ray Gerhart (Calumet Log Homes), Diane Peterson (Manager, AmericInn)
Many thanks to our wonderful sponsors—the Daily Mining Gazette, the Calumet Theatre, and the AmericInn of Calumet—as well as our judges, the Calumet Lady Elks.
The decorated storefronts will be on display through the first of the year. The final weekend in Main Street Calumet’s “Christmas in Calumet” event takes place this Saturday, Dec. 19, with free horse-drawn wagon tours, carolers, strolling musicians, and more.
